A Vision for the Year: The Field of Dreams

What is God saying to you this year?

Recently I read a powerful vision experienced by a fellow Australian pastor that particularly resonated with me and I wanted to share it with you.

Daryl Crawford-Marshall is a revivalist, teacher and pastor at Jubilee Church, Sydney, and also a former student of mine at Hillsong CollegeHe is a trusted prophetic voice who loves to equip others to move in the supernatural. I know the vision God gave him will bring encouragement to many of you. It’s a stunning and creative message that beautifully reflects God’s heart for those who have experienced significant disappointment in their lives. Enjoy!

Last November I was taken in the Spirit to an old, disused graveyard. It didn’t take long for me to see that this place had been left unattended for quite some time, with many of the headstones badly damaged and others covered by overgrown grass. As I looked more intently into the vision, I began to walk through the landscape with the Father. It was a beautiful experience that reminded me of the Garden scene with God walking and talking with his people in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8).

Without a Vision

As we continued to walk through the field, I watched as the Father stooped down by one of the headstones and thrust his hand into the ground. He appeared to rummage beneath the soil for a moment and then drew up his hand. Amidst a handful of dirt was an old pair of spectacles. He smiled widely and said; “Bifocals are coming back.”

I knew immediately that he was not referring to the glasses themselves, but to the way in which we see things – both distant and near.

Then I saw an image of a person’s feet brightly illuminated with light from a lamp, and I heard the words of a scripture that resounded through my body; “…a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).

Carefully cleaning off the glasses, the Father put them on and wore them for the rest of the encounter. This reminded me of a person who had found a ring and put it on their little finger so as not to forget to give it to the rightful owner.

I then heard him say; “Without vision my people cast off restraint” (Proverbs 29:18, KJV). I understood that the Father was releasing vision back to the Body, not just for those things to come way off in the future – far sight – but also for the practical outworking of the steps needed to see those things to come to pass – near sight.

A Resurrection of Hope

My attention was then drawn back to the field. I watched as the Father pulled up many other objects from the ground. I knew that the depth at which each item was buried represented the length of time it had been unattended and forgotten. Some items were buried so deep that it took the entire length of the Father’s arm to reach them, while others were simply hidden in the grass.

As each item was brought up, I knew that they represented buried desires and promises that had never come to pass. As I looked on, I could also see that many of these items had actually been inventions and/or innovations that had been directly downloaded from Heaven into the hearts of believers over the years.

Some of these were so amazing, that they would surely have seemed impossible for anyone receiving them. They included intricate looking engines, high-tech glasses, shoes made of fascinating materials and many wonderful medical machines, to name but a few. As each item was brought up, the Father gazed at them with intense delight and placed them carefully within easy view for anyone to find.

A Longing Fulfilled

I then felt the intense longing and disappointment that was connected to each promise. This feeling only lasted for a short moment as I found myself helping the Father to clean off the dirt from each item using a brush that had appeared in my hand. This brush was so soft and gentle that I wanted to cry every time I used it.

I imagined the wiping away of tears every time I cleared away the soil and felt deeply connected to each person as we brushed off the promises. I could even feel the healing that would come as they received the promise again. I knew that this process represented past disappointments being wiped away so that every resurrected dream would be received with fresh hope. I then heard the words: “…a longing fulfilled is a tree of life” (Proverbs 13:12).

Then I found myself looking through the glasses themselves, and as I looked, my entire body started to tingle. I could see how each item had been put together – like an instruction manual being downloaded into my spirit. It was like a step-by-step plan for each promise.

I then saw again the image of the person’s feet illuminated, and I heard the Father say; “Supernatural sight.” As I studied each item with my eyes, I became overwhelmed with the knowledge I experienced and flooded with hope beyond anything I’ve experienced before. This is the hope that will be released to the Body as each receives the impartation of this fresh vision.

I believe that at this time God is releasing dreams into the hearts of many. He is asking us to believe again.

God is faithful to complete the good work that He has started in all of our lives. He is more excited than we know to see each of us walk into the promises he has given us.
